Good shield for a mage build?

What's a good shield that I should use for my high INT/ATT/Faith class? Obviously my strength is pretty low (like 10)

and quick question about the new company of champions, I'm pretty sure I know the answer already but want to double check, once I leave the covenant, I'll be able to summon people again and the game will go back to normal right?

if you have 10 strength, shields wont be of much use to you. even IF you would have one with 100% physical reduction (which will be most important..), you'll be staggered way too easily.

still, if you can manage to get 12 strength, the http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Royal+Kite+Shield is quite good, if you really have to rely on it or.. die otherwise.. ^^

as for the covenant, I believe you'll just continue to play the game like before you joined.

the large leather sheild and the silver eagle kite sheild are both good for PVE , neather has 100% physical block but they are close enough that you will only take chip damage. For PVP or even late game PVE you could get the llewellyn sheild, or watcher sheild. also as a mage you can cast strong magic sheild on any sheild to give it 100% block for a short time.

I'll second the Llewellyn shield, probably the best small shield in the game. Remember to upgrade it!

Llewellyn Shield is the best you'll get defense-wise.

If you have enough dex you might want to consider buckler for parrying.

I really like Transgressor's Leather Shield on my mage builds since it's so light. Usually have low equip load on them, but that might just be my style of playing. Other than that, the Llewellyn and/or Watcher Shield is probably the best defense wise, like so many before me have already said.

Watcher shield or llewlyyn shield if you are looking for something light, good defenses, and good for parrying
