be careful doing this though, at BI10+ the mobs hit pretty hard and ive been invaded several times over the course of farming, you may not run into anyone but you may want to be ready for pvp just incase.

1) you can farm them at the lair of the imperfect (the dinosaur-like things) using bonfire ascetic. They have a quite high drop rate with the right equipment.

2) you can try at the frozen outskirts, the frozen reindeers have infinite spawn, but the drop rate is much lower.

3) look for petrified dragon bone farming in dragon aerie.

4) Bonfire ascetic in aldia's keep first bonfire. There are two of them there.

5) The "scientists" in aldia's keep second bonfire also drop them.

Eventually, with this farming ,and the ones normally found, i got enough material for maxing out moonlight greatsword, dragonrider twinblade, king's shield, great dragon curvedsword, dragonrider bow, alonne sword, watcher greatsiwrd, and ivory king's greatsword in NG. that makes 15x8, and that's a lot

the farming method i linked allows you to farm infinitely with little to no risk to you as you get an ascetic, a human effigy, 3 twinkling titanite and 3 petrified dragonbones and 1 repair powder each run, there is also a door in the room with the ascetic (switch is on the ceiling) that will give you 5 twinkling and 3 petrified.

granted it may take longer but its easier, quite safe actually (until you get past BI10) and you get an ascetic each run so you dont lose anything, you only gain.

alternatively if you dont care about the ascetic (you have alot already) you can ascetic the tower of prayer bonfire and then teleport to the hidden bonfire in dragons sanctum and be where the twinkling and petrified are within 10 seconds, you would only have to kill 3 mobs

farm the kirins ( lightning horse ) in that snow storm, they respawn endless end have a high drop chance for dragonbones even without loot+ items.
