Eleum Loyce knights not appearing?

I've defeated Aava and talked to the queen lady, and I'm at the part where I can go into the Old Chaos, and apparently I'm supposed to be finding some knights to help me out. Since there are three things down there, and I've found 3 random chairs just lying around the area, I can only assume that these chairs/thrones have something to do with the knights I'm supposed to find. However, they aren't appearing.

Am I supposed to be equipping some sort of ring or a piece of armor before they appear for me? Is this a bug or something?\

EDIT: Screenshot to show what I mean http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=320812861 (CONTEXT: I walked into this room, where one of the knights I'm supposed to find should be, but he is nowhere to be found. This is exactly how I found the room.)

EDIT 2: I've since been informed that there is supposed to be a knight already at the fog gate for the Old Chaos, but there is not one there for me. Also, no boss spawns when I drop into the Old Chaos.

No, you need to find them outside. Once found, they stand up and disappear and will help you later in the final fight.
I found one on a tower after clearing out the blizzard (defeat Aava and talk to Alsanna).

Have you actually found them yet? You need to finish the previous areas first.

how many knights are around the fog door? have you tried going down to The Old Chaos?

I know that I need to find them outside of the old chaos, what I'm saying is that I'm at where they're supposed to be, but they aren't showing up.

There are none, as I haven't found any. And yes, I have tried going down into the old chaos, but nothing happens.

No, not just outside Old Chaos, outside the Cathedral, outside the first boss, go back to the beginning and continue on. As I said, I found one on top of a tower with the broken bridge, where you have to go down under and meet Ratwheel v2.0 (think bonewheel). Also, White Covetous Demon.

okay, there should be at least 1 knight there as default. You need to find 3 knights in the whole of Eleum Loyce. if there isn't then i don't know whats going on.....have you sniped and killed Alsanna before the fight?

I already know what you mean. I've cleared the entire area, and I've already been to all three of the places where I'm supposed to find the knights. The problem is not that I don't know where to go, it's that they literally just aren't showing up.

No, I haven't. I figured that doing so might cause some issues.

You can actualy find 4 knights outside, but only 3 of em will go to the fight since there is already 1 knight near the boss fight present, and you can get only 4 knights to fight for you at the same time ( 3 to freeze the gates spawning chared knights, 1 to help out till killing the ivory King ). They can all be found by exploring the previous areas when the wind is calmed down.
