Artorias's daughter?
So this chick we talk to in the DLC says that she was born in the dark, her father perished in the dark, she became and incarnate of her fathers fears, etc... everything she says sounds like she is the daughter of Artorias... Lore people, chime in

No. Simply NO.
She is a child of Dark, a piece of The Father of The Abyss. Manus.

She is a fragment of Manus, Father of the Abyss. When Manus was defeated his essence never truly died but instead shattered and created Nashandra, Elana and Alana (i think this fragment is called).

Nashandra was the manifestation of Greed to my knowledge
Elana was Hate i think
and Alana is Fear. Alana being the only one of these fragments that isn't out to kill you.

So, if she was born in the dark we can assume her father was in the dark. We can't say it is Manus, because his fears weren't the dark. The only person that perished in the dark, and would have been disappointed that she became an incarnate of the dark is.. Artorias

Ohhh, I see what your saying, so she became a good guy, and that was what Manus feared. Damn, that would have been a cool plot twist.

Manus had fear. If anything, the dark souls either gives things emotions or intenseifys them. Fear is one of the emotions that leads people doing things they are not proud of. If it wasn't for the Ivory King, Alana (or whatever her name is) may have gone crazy.

We won't know the whole story until we get Soul of Alsanna (and whatever we can craft from it). I wouldn't be surprised to see she is called an augur of fear, but the fact she is the most human-looking and humane of the fragments sounds like she has a lot in common with what Manus was implied to be: The Furitive Pygmy from the opener of Dark Souls.

You can easily just snipe her with a bow for the soul, nothing special about it.

Eh, not really. Nashandra appeared human in her throne room as well.
