Question about buff stacking
I know you can't self buff stack on yourself now, but what about buffing others? Like Sacred oath / Soothing Sunlight, etc.

Sacred Oath is a Melee Buff, Soothing Sunlight heals players.
They seem to compliment each other, rather than cancel each other out.

logically they would also cancel themself out and even before the patch you couldnt stack those two to my knowledge.
*scratches head* I can't think of other buffs besides those 2 that you can put on other players

Magic Barrier. Not GMB, but Magic Barrier.

Calibration 1.10 notes:

-Miracle [Sacred Oath] when casted on yourself will remove other buffs that you have casted on yourself. Other players' [Sacred Oath] may overlap. After using [Sacred Oath], if another buff to yourself is used, [Sacred Oath]'s effect will be removed.

-Miracle [Bountiful Sunlight] when casted on yourself will remove other buffs that you have casted on yourself. Other players' [Bountiful Sunlight] may overlap. After using [Bountiful Sunlight], if another buff to yourself is used, [Bountiful Sunlight]'s effect will be removed."

According to the patchnotes you will cancel any buffs you place on yourself but if the buff is received from ANOTHER person then they will be allowed to stack.

Haven't tried this myself tho.

Buffing now works like this, OP:

A player can only buff themselves (GMB, SO, Bountiful Sunlight, Numbness, etc) once and their weapon (MW, GMW, CWM, SB, DB, etc.) at any one time. If the player attempts to buff themselves more than once, the former buff is canceled out while the new one replaces it.

However, if a player summons a white phantom and that phantom uses a buff that can affect other players, then a player can have more than one "self-buff."

It should have been made so that pve you can multi buff but as soon as you get invaded (including skripted invasions) you loose all buffs besides for the last applyed.

Actually having just one buff is the way to go. Look at DS1, you couldn't stack buffs up, not even green bossom and power within and everything was fine.

Its not like you need all the buffs to tackle NG+7 or higher. Heck, its even doable without buffs.

Here's how that would work. You buff stack for PvE when suddenly you get invaded. Now you have quite a few attunement slots tied up in buffs you mostly can't use.

You don't need it.

I think Power Within also had the effect of the Green Blossom, so Ingesting one (assuming you could Multi-buff) would only increase the already-quickened Stamina Regen Rate.

Power within only increased damage it had nothing to do with stamina.
Both power within and Green bossom were counted as buffs hence cant stack them.

Personal buffs such as iron flesh, great magic barrier, green bossoms, power within etc were not stackable.

When i learnt that buffs were stackable in DS2, i already know bad stuff was gona happen.

From a PvE standpoint of view, the buffs made sense and were functioning well but when it came to PvP, this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TboX4CPGWHA is what was happening.

Yeah, that Buff Stacking looks pretty skrubby, glad they patched it out.
