Ancient Dragon Soul

Yesterday I was after the Curved Dragon Greatsword to use in a quality build for the next dlc, then I decided to read the description of the ancient dragon soul, which I ignored the last time.

This part of the description is very interesting:

"Soul of the great ancient dragon that stands magnificently, deep within the shrine. This powerful being stands and waits, for whoever may visit him."

The strange part is, we don't get this soul from a dragon that stands magnificently deep within the shrine. We get it from a fallen dragon which, well, looks pretty dead to me.

This heavily suggests that this soul was originally going to be a drop from the Ancient Dragon in Dragon Shrine, but why changing the way to acquire the soul without changing its description?

Maybe it was laziness, I wouldn't be surprised considering the heineken label and the car wheel that made their way to the game. Maybe the dragon memory was supposed to be another whole area that we would need to complete in order to acquire the fifth giant soul, but it was left unfinished. Or maybe they just knew that the ancient dragon was going to be a cheap boss and that most people would just ignore him. I don't know.

From a lore perspective, it could also mean that maybe Aldia wasn't trying to create a dragon, but in fact resurrect one. Maybe he found the fallen dragon prior to Duke Tseldora, and he managed to resurrect him using the anshen mist heart, a giant soul and ended up merging himself with the dragon.

We will probably never know for sure. Nice theory though
