Can't acces Old Iron King Memory .

So I've beaten DLC 3 times b4 and never had this issue... this time I kinda went for speedrunners strats and also skipped smelter... on my previous playthrough I was able to get to Sir Alonne right after killing Fume, but this time the Armor is burning as it should... I have crown in my inventory, but when I examine Armor it says " Alas nothing happens" ... is there another trigger I missed ? Cause I totally believed you just need to kill Fume and get a crown to get to him.

I have beaten all the other DLC's, killed the Fume guy in the Iron Passage, have the Ashen Mist Heart and the Tower Key in my inventory. Yet when I god to the armor, its not burning and when I examine it I get the message, "Alas nothing happens..." is there something I'm missing?
