Can't find where to go after belfry gargoyles.

beat them ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and got the bastille key from the next area. i have no idea where to go after that. i see depths, but i have no idea where that's located and i'm seeing a key needed. can anyone give me some clarification. sorry for the noobie questions in advanced, this is my first play through.

You'll be very glad you got the key. That explodey enemy right after the trio is a hint of what's coming up.

It might not have been completely obvious, but an area only accessable with a Pharros Lockstone may not exactly be the main path.

That key will help later on, though, so it's not a complete waste of time. That and if you invest in both strength and dex, the soul the Gargoyles drop makes a spear with strength scaling, automatically making it the spear with the most physical damage.

Dat 25 Dex Requirement though kills the weapon as far as PvP is concerned.

go back to the Servant's Quarters bonfire in the Lost Bastille and look around. there should be a different path other than going down the ladder or back to the Ruin Sentinels room

wait, are you referring to fighting the last sinner or whomever? dude with the big ole sword? i already beat him and lit the primal bonfire. or am i misunderstanding? @cerret

Yeah, they were talking about lost sinner, as you allready have beat her, go back to Manjula and find a new path in there.

oh, you've already defeated her?
in that case go back to Majula and look around for more paths to take. try going past the Blacksmith's shop from the bonfire, or go up the path to the left of the other houses and find a use for the Fragrant Branch of Yore you found provided you haven't already used it.

♥♥♥♥ i already used it to get myself the persuer's sword. it doesn't have multiple uses? i know what you're talking about though. the petrified girl blocking the door?

and the path taking me down to the gutter is blocked by a gate...

You need the cat ring from the cat "Shalo-whatever". You only really have the gutter left... That will get you to Black Gulch, which has another fragrant branch of yore just before its entrance. If you haven't go to Huntsman's Copse, that would be a better idea.

Just keep in mind, Huntsman's Copse and Earthen Peak come before the Gutter and Black Gulch. So you may find it more difficult. I made a far worse mistake my first time through (Heide's to Black Gulch w/ no Forest).
