whats a good melee weapon to get early on for a hex build?

whats a good melee weapon to get early for a hex build? and my dex and str stats are both at 18

if you're planning to do PvE only, it really doesn't matter what you use. if you're planning to do PvP, it depends what weapon you want to use for a hex build late-game. if you're gonna use something like the Fume Sword, the start getting used to the straight sword moveset by using other straight swords, and if there are any other weapons you have in mind then use the same class of weapon early on

in that case get a light weapon you like. you'll be doing most of the work with hexes anyway.

Heide sword or fire longsword are both early and good since first takes from faith and 2nd from int.

+1 I started yesterday as a sorcerer, and immediately went for the fire longsword, a very good weapons for starters it carried me through 2/4 primal souls. I am not sure how much of a difference there is between a hexer and a sorcerer since I am fairly new.

Fire longsword +10 in left hand+ Magic Blue Flame +10 in right hand+ power stance and heres spell caster dual wielder :D

But hexer uses both faith and int so he have more choice but needs to put more points to be effective in hexes.

Silverblack Spear or Nahr Alma Scythe, infuse with Dark and buff with Dark Weapon. Wreck stuff in PvE, and since they are long they are much safer than straight sword. I'm saying these because once you have Hex you have access to these.

You could also try a Silverblack Sickle.

If you're searching for early weapons to make use of those, the 2 guarantee are fire longsword in Forest and that dark scythe near Tark.
