Spell stamina usage??
So it costs a load of stamina to wave a sheet of flame in front of you (great combustion), but it takes half of the stamina to launch a giant sun from your hand...(forbidden sun)

...What?

"giant sun" more like 0.0001% of the sun

Its called a high-level pyromancy for a reason, and it takes 2-3 spell slots to even equip Forbidden Sun. Great Combustion is meant to be a pyromancer's version of Soul Greatsword, a spell that is useful if you combo it with melee. Great Combusion is also your "Oh Sh**!" spell, to casted when you have almost no time to dodge when an opponant is rushing/rolling you.

Play around with the spells, OP. Each has a purpose in mind for them, even Iron Flesh.
Stamina soft-caps around 20. But it actually can be put up all the way to 99 without any further reductions in return. It's worthwile to invest in it...

^ This. I usually roll a mage-type character with END 40. Proper stamina usage will make or break your character.

Yea, still made no sense of that in general... I'm still using lightning spells that won't do crap for damage...

Lightning spells are tricky, and yeah, they got hit hard with every new patch. Here's the thing, lightning is the go-to element for dealing damage to those in heavy *metallic* armor; seriously, look it up and I'll guarentee you that every set of heavy metal-based armor has sh** lightning defense. Its why Sunlight Blade is such a powerful miracle and why it requires so much FTH in order to cast. SB plus Great Magic Barrier is a solid buff set for FTH/melee hybrids, and it used to be so much worse pre-patch.

For the projectile lightning miracles, you need to build around it. Sunbro ring + Lightning Clutch Ring + Blue Clearstone Ring (+2) + Stone Ring + Faith Boosting Ring (bought from the priestess) + Lightning Dragon Chime (the fastest catalyst in the game; 145 casting speed). These are the required items to do comparable (to sorcery and pyromancy) levels of damage with lightning miracles. You also need to plan around ATN because the build-up for lightning miracles takes so damn long; shoot for 64 ATN and wear the Black Hood (adds 16% of casting-speed to base casting speed; stacks with Lion Mage set).

Basically, concerning miracles, you are either a melee/caster hybrid (focusing on buffs and Force/WotG, wearing medium-to-heavy armor) or you are a full caster (using lightning miracles to their fullest extent but having sh** physical defense). Either way, its an advanced build and requires a lot of practice.

Good Luck.

Or just use hexes/sorceries, no rings, twice the damage, way faster. Praise the sun....
