Surviving the Majula Pit, Without a Ring?
^

What is the bare minimal HP you need to survive the fall into the Majula Pit Without the Silvercat Ring? I know 768 HP WITH the ring is enough, but I'm trying to figure out what HP amount you need to survive the fall without it.

Thanks!

I really doubt you can survive that with any kind of HP, I'm quite sure at a given distance a fall is just an instant death, with items that reduce falling damage increasing said distance.

A lot of HP (around 1,500 without any items) is required to survive the fall damage. The Silvercat Ring sold by Sweet Shalquoir makes your life easier, since the damage you take from falling is drastically reduced.

IDK how falling damage workes in DS 2 but in DS 1 it was based on the distance you fell and your max HP so no matter how much HP you had you would still take the same % hp as damage. so if a fall would bairly kill you with 500hp it would also bairly kill you with 2000. you could likely live through it with some other fall reduction item/spell.

I would try leveling up int and getting the fall control from Carhillion. It costs less than the Silvercat Ring and you can always use a Soul Vessel to reset your stats to whatever you want.

Falling Damage in DS2 is dependant on your weight. I don't know if you can survive the fall without fall gear but taking off all your other gear and weapons might reduce the damage enough. Also make sure you attack when you fall, reduces damage a little.

I went ahead and did some testing myself.

You need 1358 HP to survive the fall, with no items outside of Life Ring and Way of the Blue Ring.

You survive with about 5-8~ HP.

Did this so I could make a new twink without spending souls on the Silvercat Ring. :)

i heard that weight also affects fall damage. havent tested it myself but unequiping armor/items should decrease the damage you take from the fall

Hm? I tend to ignore invites, rarely do I block someone, unless you were persistantly trying to add me.

Hmm not sure actually - couldnt add you again after the first time i think. Doesnt matter either way ;)

I think you already know this - but walk speed and weight have an impact on fall damage as well. Being naked at 0 weight and uber carefully inching over the edge helps quite a bit.

28 vigor (starting as explorer and leveling only vigor - other stats give minor health boosts as well after all) without rings for me - maybe 27 if i could walk a bit slower but its kinda hard with keyboard

^ mentions the flat damage done by the majula pit fall as 1342

Too bad he doesn't sell it. You can buy it from Magerold or Ornifex, the cat ring is available from the start and is more versatile.

Jester boots reduce fall damage also, ironic you get them where the guy with the ladder is. Not remember if there is still magic fall control? Saved me many times in ds1. It would be supercool if a well timed force miracle could break a fall.
Deus Sinistro Feb 8, 2015 @ 10:59pm
If you convice the guy at the mines to go to majula, he can put his ladder there, for you to climb down on.

I usually start out by going to the Iron Keep as soon as possible, partly because of the large amount of titanite on the path, but also to get the Covetous serpent ring and the Dull ember, there I pick up the jesters boots from Magerold, they should be enough to keep you alive.
