However it was so narrow that you need to be in human form, possibly wasting all your effigies very quickly if you die too many times (like I did, during my testing).
But this saves precious 13k souls from the ring. I read that you take less fall damage if you roll and if you have no armor on, not sure about the latter but it definitely seemed that rolling left me with a bit more HP than just walking off the ledge.
I prefer it easy. Blighttown is IMO the worst area in DS1, though at least you can skip almost all of it with Master Key. At least DS2 doesn't have toxic dart dudes and those infinitely spawning wasps. Gutter isn't much fun either though, especially if you are trying to just run past everything.
The point here is to create a character that is as powerful as possible with the least SM. Best way to do this is rush Rotten and then rush through Shulva to get high-end loot. I need to kill only 2 bosses to do that, Dragonrider to level up Vigor, then Rotten.
Going for the strongest but least SM? Probably best to wait until the patch hits and you can use the anti-SM ring.
End of the week if the announcement is to be believed.
I need to get to my 100-150 goal before putting on the ring, and we don't know when you even get it.
this way I made it safely.. to the bonfire in majula. :-|
