melfinito illusion

Before the fog door to the boss at the shrine.
Can somebody explain if this is an illusion or a vision of the trapped melfinito

All I know is that it counts toward helping the sirens. So despite how brief, unexplained and surreal it appears, activating her does accomplish something. It's real enough.

Maybe someone who has tried attacking it can shed some light. Although I highly doubt anyone would expect a benefit from doing so.

According to the guide
"A scarred and wounded MIlfanito found cowering outside the Boss room in the Shrine of Amana, apparently attacked by the Demon of Song. How she survived the encounter is uncertain; She might actually be a ghost."

We should also take note of the fact that the Milfanito (and the Finito) were granted life and purpose by the Great Dead One (Nito from Dark Souls 1, Hence Milfa-nito, Fi-nito).

I did for the sake of science on my second character, she dies in one punch and killing her stops door to another milfanito and altar from opening even if your character is hollowed. No reaction from the milfanito after the first bonfire.

You need to meet all but one Milfanito sisters ( even though some will not speek with you ) to get into shrine itself, cause she is inside, and obtain some special katana and a way to restore humanity for free. Killing sisters will not give you anything.
