Report a translation problem
Mimics seem to give away less clues animation-wise compared to DS1. But their is one very easy way to recognise them by a quick glimpse. Look for a keyhole just under the front of the lid. If it has one, you have a mimic. No keyhole = normal/trapped chest.
This wasn't the case for me at The Doors of Pharros. I had never encountered a mimic before. I noticed the difference with the keyhole but saw no movement at all (you can see DS1 mimics breathing and other weird stuff). Wooden chest so I didn't want to hit it with my GS so I tried opening with thinking I had enough health. Killed me in the initial chew-up. But it was still there when I came back. Resting is disguise.
