exactly how to riposte?
some say forward then light attack, others say just hold light attack. Riposte after guard break, parry and back stab are really random for me, sometime I've set up everything right but I'd just do normal attacks =_=. I also tried Nelson's flame swath then riposte after parry but never worked, just normal swings.
There's also this phantom riposte technique of orobo which Idk how to do it on PC

Can some1 pls tell me what exactly which key should I press for the ripostes?

light attck is the key but you have to wait for them to actually be on the ground to riposte after parries

Walk forward. Release thumbstick. Wait. Tap light attack. (RB on Xbox controller).

Basically don't rush pressing RB.

so for phantom riposte, tap backward, then tap light attack right?
THen after a parry: switch to flame swathe then tap light attack?

I don't have controllers, playing with mouse & keyboard, what's the release thumbstick for?

switch to 2 handed stance do much more dmg right?

Reposte is different from Demon's and Dark Souls 1. You cannot immediately attack after the parry. Instead, let them fall on their ass and wait for half a second. Only then do you hit your light attack.

I waited a lot, I even tried to switch my left hand to pyro and throw out flame swathe before riposte but never managed to pull of the combo :(

It's all about the timing, not how long you hold the light attack button or anything. You just have to parry, wait for their animation to finish with them sitting on the ground, walk close and then light attack. Too early and it just becomes a normal attack and breaks them out of it. For guard break you just walk into them and light attack during their stagger animation. you have to be close, too far away and it'll just be a normal attack.

The reason it worked in his video is because instead of just waiting, he threw out the flame swathe, which has delayed damage, the swap to pyro hand and casting animation took just long enough that the guy was fully on the ground ready to be riposted, so he managed to get the riposte in as well.

yep, I did everything in the same way but just end up with normal attacks, and the mob was starting to stand up before being blown by the swathe.
OH BUT CRYSTAL MAIDEN
