Memory of Jeigh - Help (possible spoilers)

Hi,

Ok, so far in DkS2 I've not rage quit or got too annoyed with myself. Until the Memory of Jeigh. I've skipped the other memories (with the exception of the mega easy one that is) as I just got mobbed by giants and killed quickly. Not helped by the time limit in the areas.

So, I think to proceed to the final boss fight the Memory of Jeigh is the only memory I need to complete. But completing it is becoming a royal PITA.

I've manaaged to get as far as the giant I need to kill but that's after running through the area, dodging the fire balls and them ogre things and that giant rolling boulder. Leaving me with very little ground to fight the giant at the end. One hit and a stomp and I'm dead.

I'm playing pure melee. I have a bow but that's not going to do me much good with this fella.

Any tips? I'll happily resort to cheesing him if there's a way.

respec to magic and the boss is lololol easy by standing on the platform above him and just shooting and rolling, however first time I did it in melee

1: don't lock on, makes it much harder to stay behind him

2: try to stay to his left (your right) side behind the leg, take a few swings, he will miss you with his side sweep and when he lifts his leg just roll to the other leg to avoid it, then get back behind his left leg

3. don't get greedy

I too play a melee class, and what you have to do is to circle around him while attacking his feet. I found it easiest to stand by his sides when he did the sweep attack and before long he's dead.

Remember The Last Giant? This guy is roughly the same - stick to it's back and avoid getting stomped. If you have troubles, summon one of two phantoms right before the fog to assist you, they become available if you talk to the respective NPC(s) at the beginning of two other memories.

Heyo,

Welcome to the cheaty hour, staring yours truly. If by some miracle of God you have an abundance of Posion arrows, the Black Hunter bow and the Hawk ring, then this Boss will be over for you in no time.

If/when you get these items, do the following;

-Trigger that boulder. there's a half-way point that'll trigger that boulder. It's actually the King's head on the statue to the left of the Giant Lord.
-The boulder will stop right at that half-way point. And litterally to the left of that half-way point (You facing the Giant Lord) is a little platform you can stand on. It's not the elevated platform, but the one on the same level the giants were being killed on.
-With items equiped, and tons of arrows at your disposle, you can take out the Giant Lord without him kicking your butt. (He'll do one, ranged attack which won't be able to reach you)

Edit: Idk the stats needed for the Black Hunter's Bow, but if you have two soul vessels, then consider using them if need. Or grind for the levels.

Thanks guys. Yes, I summoned one phantom but by the time I got to the boss fight he'd been killed (yes, I stopped for a Costa halfway down the battlements :-) ok, I got held up by one of those ogres).

Did you guy bypass the other enemes in that area? Seems like to kill everything and the boss will take longer than the 5 minute time slot.

I usually run up to the first battlement, wait for the head to roll, then sprint past anything left alive, giants won't follow you to the boss

If you still wish to kill him with pure melee, you can just run up the stairs to the platform with the corpse containing an item (fire seed) and wait for him to land his two handed attack. Of course, you'll have to be very patient here, as well as be proficent at rolling, but it's certainly a lot easier than hugging his legs, and he basically only has two attacks when you're up there.
