Boris (ENB creator) "VAC will ban you after two weeks" (SweetFX at risk as well)
Since ENB uses d3d9.dll, a file defined within various readme files as stated

d3d9.dll - DirectX 9 proxy dll that will inject shaders into DirectX 9 games

Chances are, you will be banned for using ENBMod in Dark Souls 2. Just as people who used this mod that did practically the same thing using the same method (opengl32.dll since it was an OpenGL engine) for Counter Strike/Half Life were banned ten years ago. They're still banned to this day.

Don't believe me? Here's the man saying the same exact thing. What a ♥♥♥♥ing shame.

According to this logic, SweetFX is at risk as well.

Still relevant considering the misinformation saying it doesn't trigger VAC because it doesn't modify original files, it just injects them, as if that's any safer.

The silly thing is, from what I've read VAC only works on reports. So if you're not actually cheating and get banned for having a graphics mod that means some rager reported you just because they lost.

I still have a tiny bit of faith on valve/devs.
i can't belive they will let a good part of the community get banned because of it.

At the rate that I PVP and how many messages I got on PS3 from ratbro PVP, I'm not taking that risk.

Well those people I spoke of that got banned for that shader mod are still banned to this very day. Here's one of them that can't play Dark Souls 2 for using a graphics mod ten years ago

VAC completely ignore reports.
they only use steam reports as statistics.

VAC is fully automated.

I know that feeling. One of my friends got this game and sent me a message bragging about how he reported a bellbro for "ganging up on him" and its just like. wat, dude that's the game. grow up.

lol, some people have lousy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thought process.

Stop being an ignorant human being first.
we don't need VAC on dark souls.

it doesn't stop hackers , it only punishes them after 2 weeks and thats it.
we are better off with watchdog.

funnily enough injections is exactly what will get one banned as that's exactly what vac will look for

people don't learn

Yes using an ENB is cheating so much.

If I want to make a game that I play for hundreds of hours look better by taking five minutes to install something that in no shape or form gives me an advantage in multiplayer content, I damn well should be able to.

It doesn't hurt you and arguably it puts me at a disadvantage because it makes the game darker and more realistic in the case of the most popular ENB/SweetFX profiles out there. What's your problem with me making my game look better and darker on my own screen?

i thought they were trying to fix the vac ban stuff that happened on steam games so people who did get vac banned on them could play DS2 online

hackers were never a problem on DS1 because of watchdog.
Loool someone's never been cursed in the face by an invader that looked like a white phantom.

That's good for the people who didn't cheat in Dark Souls 2 but while cheating is already rampant and VAC isn't doing its job, we're worried about a harmless clientside-only graphics mod will ban us.

They sure as hell aren't banning people modifying their saves.
