Miyazaki likes Sony and Sony owns the Demon's Souls IP, it's a collaborative effort. Dark Souls 3 is probably already in development, this is just a treat for PS4 owners. If you don't want to buy a PS4, you'd be missing out on one hell of a game but the multiplatform version is out there and will definitely continue given how much they've made off of DaS I/II

If I'm missing a hell of a game or not is besides the point. I just think that at this point, considering the sucess that the serie achieved in the other platforms, making an exclusive game again, seems like a bad idea. It might make some new fans upset and btw, why continue Demon's Souls after so much time? There's no good reason to it. And even if it isn't Demon's Souls 2, it still is a not very bright idea. Oh well... but what do I know.
If the game turns out to be good, I'll probably buy when I get one ps4, but that doesn't change that I'll be very happy by doing this.

But Sony own Demon's Souls, that's like saying it's a bad idea not to make Gran Turismo/Uncharted etc. multi-plat.

Besides, the PS4 can handle graphics that contend wth PC Crysis 3, in Killzone.

Infact, it's extremely smart of Sony to make DeS2, because so many people will be fans of the Souls series who started at DkS1, it will boost PS4 sales enough to forgo the extra money from multi-plat. I know a horde of people who have bought a PS3 just for DeS1 in the recent year alone, since DkS1 hit PC.

Also, you can bet that Sony are paying for the development like they did with DeS1, so for FROM they get a game made for next to nothing, a big contract pay by Sony AND royalties. No brainer.

Is there any sort of proof or evidence that this is Demon Souls 2? They could be making a similar game and just riding Dark Souls II's popularity for hype. I hope it is a Demon Souls 2 but I wouldn't get my hopes up just yet(Unless there is some definitive proof).

Well regardless, Hidetaka Miyazaki is involved so that should make any Souls fan super excited.

Maybe so, but I wouldn't buy a PS4 just to play one of his games if it wasn't a Souls game. I was thinking of getting one anyway, but a game made by him that is not a Souls game wouldn't influence the decision. I'll wait and see I guess.

You'd be surprised. Also, the series is not multi-platform technically. Demon Souls is still PS3 exclusive. Doubt it'll ever go to x-box let alone PC but this hype is just that,hype. There's no proof that it's a Demon Souls 2 game yet.

I'll buy it if it's exclusive, but I probably won't enjoy it. Gaming on consoles feels extremely poor to me the majority of the time. I just can't enjoy it.
