Can't burn effigies at bonfire

I'm trying to do it at Majula,but it keeps telling ''Cannot burn in this bonfire''.I want to go offline(without having to unplug my RJ-45)so i can fight the NPC invader in Grave of Saints.

Just put steam in offline mode, it should start the game also offline

i don't think the grave of saints is linked to majula bonfire

You'll either have to burn the effigy at the specific bonfire or just launch Steam in offline mode.

Dosen't work there either.I read somewhere that it had to be done at Majula so that's why.
