how to open - cardinal tower hidden path behind stone boulders leading to exit by Soldiers Rest Bonfire ??

you see the barrels by the wall? you need a fire source to open the path, a firebomb should be fine or bait the enemy throwing the firebombs into hitting the barrels

What that guy said. The barrels are on the outer side of the wall.
Easymode: It's possible to trigger the barrels on the outer walls from the inside with firebombs. Fire-based AoE attacks may be sufficient too.

Head down the ladder at that bonfire, straight ahead and through the door on your left. You'll walk up a tree, then at the top you should see a large pile of black barrels. Those can explode, blowing a hole in the wall. (don't just hit them, they'll break. you need fire)

Not That One - hidden path behind boulders - straight opposite shortcut you mentioned on the end behind fallen tree - is cave (inside rock) blocked by boulders and and it's leads to hidden ledge on top hause with two Turtle Knight you can see Exit from cawe and ledge leading to corpses on scaffolding on top of edge - ner soldiers rest bonfire

You'll need the pickaxe.

If you mean the cave that's straight ahead of you when you climb up the tree trunk to the wall with the firebomb wall, you get to the cave by jumping down from the tree trunk to the roof with a few enemies, and then jump from the roof to the scaffolding with one of the archers, under the ledge.

not that abow - when you get on top of the tree - behin of you is bonfire (if you opened short cut by blowing up wall) and infron is cave entrance blocked by Boulders
