Smelter Demon Set?

I beat both Smelter Demon and Old Iron King in Iron Keep. I was told that the guy in Majula would be selling his set, but he doesn't have it. Am I missing something?

You have to make a minimum amount of purchases for him to update his inventory. First update is after 1000 souls spent, second after 10000 i think.

You'll know it worked when he moves from the floor, to a chair, to being a total pimp.

its actually 16,000 has to be spent before he sells boss and special sets.

you have to be on ng+ and have spent 16k with him. You can also get the moonlight butterfly armor like this. And on NG+ The butterfly shield is up the latter in that guys house.

Don't need to be in NG+ for Smelter Set.

That is incorrect sir. You only need to spend 1500 souls with him for his first inventory upgrade for him to carry boss gear. At 16000 souls he carrys a special set that only he sells. If you go to him with 0 souls in your inventory he will pity you and give you a set of armor.. but only if you've spent 16000 to upgrade him to his final inventory set.

Smelter Set seems to be the best heavy set that he offers anyway. Total of 679 physical defence, only a bit shorter of Havel's. Thanks guys.

He first updates his inventory after 1K souls are spent at him. His next update comes at 16K, and you can also get a special set by talking to him with 0 souls at that point.
