For a measly 4K, it's certainly worth it. Granted, it won't make you forsake soul gems and Estus, but it'll make a difference.

Oh sorry, didn't know they didn't, new to dark souls. I was just wondering if there was a better ring of the same type, (gives you health when you kill someone) later on in the game

It's a secret to everyone if there is...but until you have four go-to rings you always wear, it helps to get every little advantage you can afford. Plus it's something I use from time to time when mowing through early areas.

If you really want to know - google dark souls 2 wiki, all the info is online, but part of the fun is learning yourself and experimenting

Just stay away from guides and don't listen to what people tell you, if you want to enjoy the full experience.
Especially since some people are just saying ♥♥♥♥ to mess you up and waste souls.
