What bonfire is nearest to Vendrik??

It's in the Undead Crypt I believe. There isn't one that makes it a short run, you do have to travel a bit to get to him. I want to say there are two bonfires there, and whichever one if the farthest in, is the one you want. And there is a boss before if you have not beaten it yet. You need certain souls to make Vendrick at least somewhat killable, otherwise he has 32x hp. So if you don't have them yet, don't even try.

There's only one, not counting the one at the entrance to the area. The whole level is basically pulling that lever so the bridge opens to create a shortcut to Velstatd and Vendrik. You need to pass those 7 knights every time.
