You can also buy the moss from Gavlan, the Wheel Merchant.

You first encounter him in No-Man's Warf and after that, he moves to the Doors of Pharros...

No-Man's Wharf > Harvest Valley and then Doors of Pharros.

Huntsman's copse, second bonfire. Kill the butterflies that sit at the top of the trees spreading poison, 100% drop rate. There's usually 2-3 hanging around.
