Using a PS3 controller. Is Better DS3 safe with VAC?

I've been meaning to get around to playing this game since I got it, but I couldn't figure out why my F310 Logitech Controller wouldn't work with the game. I soon discovered that it was actually broken (derp), so I resolved to using one of my DS3 controllers to play instead. However, I'm a bit hesitant to do this as I have to download motioninjoy and the DS3 Tool to get my DS3 controller to work with my computer. I wanted to use the Better DS3 tool, as it is offline compared the DS3 Tool that doesn't make my eyes bleed when using its interface.

My question is, since this is apparently a VAC protected game, will using Better DS3 be safe for my account? I read on the steam forum that DS3 Tool is safe to use, and this program is another iteration of that, but I want to be absolutely sure before testing it.
