I can't beat the Belfry Gargoyles at SL 69, why?!
I saw a video of someone beating them solo, at around 15~ SL lower with one less Estus AND it being baseline healing.

There are my stats, I'm only doing around 100~ damage per strike against them and I just can't kill one fast enough before I've got four on top of me. And I can't summon help because they decided that Luna's Beflry is gonna be full of Invaders at all times and no help for you for SOME reason.

What can I do short of grinding or re-assigning my stats? I've beatent the last 5 bosses(Dragonrider, Dragonslayer, The Three Sentinels, Pursuer, Last Giant) with little trouble. I'm at my wit's end, I can't freaking take it.

It's probably because your weapon sucks.

upgrade your weapons, also even a SL1 can kill them but they have experience

Congrats. You've hit your first 'Wall'. What weapon are you using? I can't see what the weapon is, and that's probably the issue; the boss probably has some sort of high resistance to your damage type. I'd suggest throwing your summon sign down in the area and helping OTHERS do it.. you'll learn the boss' moves and what works to win for other people. Statwise.. I think you look fine? A basic, run of the mill sort of warrior fellah.

Don't blame yourself. It is the game's difficulty that is to blame. The first two games combined isn't even as difficult as DS2.

You need a better strategy.. and maybe a better weapon... they are hard to beat when you take too long to kill each one.. having more them 2 attacking you is very dangerous...

Actually the more there are, the less aggressive they are. Having more of them available is a viable strat if you have AOE spells like Flame Swathe.

Just FYI the gargoyles spawn based on the amount of damage you deal to the others. Normally there are 2 up at the very start. When the total combined amount of damage you do equals 1/2 of one of the gargoyles a 3rd will spawn.

The best strategy is to always try to kill them one at a time. You want to get one of them to just above 1/2 health, then, when he is open again do as much damage as possible. If he doesn't die run around and wait for him to do his fire attack which leaves him very open (and they only do it at <1/2 health). Doing it this way there will only be 2-3 gargoyles, and most of the time they will be stuck at 2.

As for upgrading my weapon, I can't, I spent all my Titanite upgrading my armor. Which up until this point has worked fine for me. As for them spawning based on how much damage I did, I don't think that's true. I had 4 on me when they were collectively only missing around 300 HP. Anyway, I just managed to beat them with a Summoned Phantoms help. Seriously I don't get how you're supposed to beat them solo unless you're doing around 400 to 500 damage a swing. To put it into perspective, up to this point I could kill the mooks with a three hit combo.

Also, I was using the bog standard Drangliec Greatsword as my weapon.

" standard Drangliec Greatsword as my weapon." There is your problem. I have found swords (greatswords especially) extremely lacking during this fight. They take a lot of time to swing, and Gargoyles have a high resistance to slash damage. What I did, was switching to a simple Mace+2, and did it on my second try solo. Good luck :)

So, I should have used a weapon that's just as slow? Hammer weapons have a similar swing speed to Greatswords. But yeah, Strike over Slash it seems, I'll remember that next time.

A mace is much faster than a greatsword. He means the normal mace, the one cleric starts with. 100 damage/hit is super low at that stage. You could still do it, but the fight is already a patience test and at a 100 per hit it could literally take half an hour. If I was you I'd come back when you have more damage, at least 250-300 a hit.

Use a mace

get 20 endurance, 20 vigor is also a good investment, but 20 endurance is basically a requirement. After 20 it starts to only give you 1 stamina per point, it's not worthless, just not as good.

100~ damage? i was doing more than that at the start of the game...

It depends on the enemy you're fighting, you realize that right? Bosses will have higher stats than the mooks in their area. And according to someone I've know that's played the console version for the last month, Luna's Beflry is an optional area to begin with.

But yeah, I'll make sure to boost a decent striking weapon for the next time I fight those swarming buggers.
