Dark Souls 2 is it a good PC port?

Now I am very interested in picking up dark souls 2 but first of all I bought the original dark souls on PC, and to this day its a broken mess that you can't save on...

Now I have been reading community reviews for this game and am getting very mixed messages

Some claiming its a ♥♥♥♥ PC port that runs terribly don't touch it

Some claiming its a great PC port that runs better than the consoles

What I do know is the game has some fatal glitches that have caused crashing

this is understandable and I assume that it will be fixed soon

I have also heard that the Keyboard and mouse controls are ♥♥♥♥

this I do have a bit of a problem with but I have a ps3 controller with an emulator so no problem their

so my main question is this: how well does the game run as far as PC ports go

I've heard people claim "it runs like ♥♥♥♥ worst port ever"

and others claim "smoother than consoles solid 60 fps and cripser textures"

So I would like to hear back from the community on this one

It's decent. I can understand people upset with the controls. I myself had some issues at first...I do have a XBox 360 controller, however that being said, it suffers from what a very few other games seem to suffer from, and that is, if you own a razer nostramos, it doesn't detect your controller until you disable your HID-compliant drivers for your nostramos.

Apart from that, I am enjoying the game. Dying a lot!! Bumped everything under the graphics to highest possible, and the game runs smoothly. Was thinking i'd probably would have to go back in and start turning things down, but no...really seems good. My computers a few years old...so not top of the line specs here.

Overall I'm pleased...with everything except my total and utter lack of skill that keeps getting me killed...but that's not the games fault. Oh yeah, I should also say that I never had issues with the first game...so...I know others raged at that one.

Runs fine on my PC with 360 controller. Already finished PS3 version and this is just nicer and smoother in every way. Pity for the people having trouble and I hope their issues are sorted soon but a lot are working fine as it is.

having had no problems getting the game to run and having tons of problems getting DS one to run. The PC port of DS2 is much better the DS1. I play with a controler because I find it easier and the game was built for it if you have one ,as most PC gamers should have at least one controler for ♥♥♥♥ like this, then you will have no problems. ah'course I have no idea what the controls are for keyboard and mouse. apperence wise the game is far better then the console version as well as FPS if you have a good enough system.

Summon helpers a lot for bosses and lay down your summon to help others. Its a blast. I introduced my buddy to the PS3 version, having never seen a Souls game. He finished it before me!!

This isnt a good PC port and the game is only so hard because of the horrible controling and the fact that the enemys can hit you while you attack but if they hit you you cant attack and have to relocate after a hit to do anything again.

Tried mouse/keyboard = horrible input lag
Tried controler after managing to work (lol for a console game i have to manage the controller to work) = horrible movement after loging in an enemy

The most horrible thing is that i have to log in the enemy to hit him and cant just move to him and try to kill. I know i have to play slow and careful but if i dont want to spend time of my life to be slow i cant play DS2 good...

I wish i could sell this game and get my money back damn steam -.-

Ah and i can delete my char now because of to many death... no souls no lifepotions reste to last campfire and again all enemys alive and my health bar is lowering and lowering... impossible to go on with my char now have to redo all again wtf. yeah this you can tell hardgame but it isnt really hard its just trail and error and if you need to long *♥♥♥♥ yourself and restart the game**hahahaha* THANKS NO!

The game runs like a sharm for me, No problems whatsoever.
I am Running a Nvidia GTX660Oc Graphicscard, 8 Gb RAM, i7 2600 and a 1080p Monitor.

I ran the game and it worked with no issues, Online mode works jut great, I am on 60 FPS constantly, Graphics Maxedout and the Keyboard & Mouse controlls may be bad but it controlls perfectly with my Xbox360 Controller.
