Serious question, How do i open the door at the very start with a keyboard?.

you open door with Shift+Left click

There are already posts here with control list mapped to PC default key bindings.. Just search this forum..

The controller prompt "A" is shift+left click.
The controller prompt "Y" is ctrl+middle mouse click (lets you cycle options so you can light the torch at the bonfire).

Weird as hell, but once you get used to it, you can get everything working.
Even with all the huge improvements over the Dark Souls port, it's still pretty irritating to have controller prompts all over my screen.

After about 30 minutes of taffing about I got all the controls set up normally, and everything works okay... It can just be frustrating to get to that point because of the weird menus.

Another pro-tip: After you change settings in the video options or keybindings menu, to accept them and close the menu you have to move your cursor OFF the window you're changing options in, and hit shift+left click.

A couple more bugs I noticed:

Since "double left click" and "double right click" are options for mouse bindings, unbinding them from heavy attack will cause your character to just stand there and do nothing if you click too rapidly when trying to perform regular attacks.
Having double click as a heavy attack is an absolutely bizarre option, I don't know who though it was viable.

Also, I can't seem to do the "guard break" (kick replacer, I guess), or the forward leaping attack.
The attacks that require you to press two buttons simultaneously don't work for me.

The timing is harder, but hit Right Mouse and then right after that hit W. It's a sequence, not a hit 'em both at the exact same time thing.

Well shucks, I'll give that a try right now...

Also, to OP, definitely look up (on this forum) the default keyboard bindings and how they relate to the controller prompts. It'll save you a migraine.

I've had a lot of trouble doing the jump attack as well. Both of these are MUCH easier if you also assign the Right Attacks (weak/strong) to keys like 1/2 or F/G and then it is hitting them at the same time as W.

This. I switched my hotkeys for the keyboard Right hand attack to F (W+F=GuardBreak) and also changed Left heavy attack to Tab because double right click to parry is dumb. Also, for more dark souls 1 feel, changed Interact from ctrl+click to Q and changed the "accept" button from enter to Q. lets you pick up items and confirm that you picked up the item with the same button without having to move too far or press awkward combos. hope this helps.

^ Omg thank you for that I didn't know you could layer that control. Instead of Q I use E though. It's what I'm used to, but thanks that helps A LOT!

I've set middle mouse click to "Interact" and E to Heavy Attack right hand; now I can leaping attack... Switching normal attack from left click to help me guard break would be too weird, though. Hopefully they come up with a solution to this, and the double click garbage, soon.
