Dark Souls 2 controls.
Are the controls going to be as bad as the first Dark Souls? They were awful, I really hope they improved them in the sequal.

the keybindings are ok this time, and theres no weird negative ouse-acceleration, but the mouse has a horribly cluttered control-scheme (which can be made ok-ish by rebinding keys), however it also has a delay of (for me) up to 2 secs for clicks
i'm currently circumventing this by using a script to bind my mouse-keys to keyboard-keys which have normal/strong attack laid upon, but that's hopefully just gonna be a bandaid till fix
best choice? use a controller

The controls are still god awful. A controller is pretty much required

I honestly only have a few problems with them, but nothing to major. First of all, everything is still has the 360 controller buttons, which I don't have and makes the entire tutorial pointless. I had to learn the different attacks by checking the keybindings and trying them out, only could figure out a couple, still need to learn jump attack and kick (if they are still in the game) god knows if they added new ones. The controls really don't feel to bad to me as people are making them out. Running and attacking feels fine, you can change them to your liking. I had to change the interact button and confirm to E and use item to R. After that I could play it fine. Took about 30 minutes to get the controls to my liking. But after that I can play just fine. Don't get why people are saying they are unplayable and horrible.

Keyboard controls feel fine. Default bindings are atrocious though. Remove all mouse bindings except attacks, rebind everything else, and it'll feel fine.

Wrong, the controls are about as bad as it comes. The Developers still don’t get it. It’s unbelievable how bad they are. My opinion, do not buy the game. If you’re a controller junkie, then have at it, but Mouse and Keyboard, forget it.

There's a learning curve to the KBM settup, but when you get that out of the way it's a breeze. It's nowhere near as botched as it was in the 1st game, you can play with a KBM just fine if you're willing to make an effort and learn.

Also don't believe the hate. People tend to cry betrayal at every little thing. Yes it takes some getting used to, no it's not an issue when you get around it. The 1st game was broken and required a controller, this game does not.

Or possibly you're bad with keyboard and mouse? The defaults are all bad but anyone used to rebinding in games can get it to feel good (I rebind every game I play, maybe you're not used to doing that?)

Agree, first game was so bad I ended up using full keyboard controls because I didn't feel like playing with a controller (already did on 360, wanted a new experience).

This game's controls are fine once you fix them.

There is also like 1.5 second delay using the attacks with the mouse, don't know if its gets fix by changing the heavy attack to a key instead of double click. Its pretty big difference compare to 360 pad which has no delay. So there is that, I guess you could say you would be at a disadvantage agains't someone in pvp.

They have not improved the controls, you have to essentially rebind every single action besides WASD
Toadofsky 24 ABR 2014 a las 8:16 p. m.
RadTT's got a point. 1st thing I did was rebind everything. Once that was out of the way and I got a feel for it, it's fine. I really don't feel this delay people are going on about, though.

No idea, but I'd just like to make sure others know AGI is a skill now and if you're trying to dodge on KB/M yet there's a feeling of "lag" it's not your fault.
Shibe 24 ABR 2014 a las 8:17 p. m.
They've actually gone and made it worse than the first one. DS1 actually had decent keybinds, the only thing that made it unplayable was the mouse not tracking properly. DS2 keybinds I Don't Even.......
RadTT 24 ABR 2014 a las 8:20 p. m.
DS1 mouse controls made it unplayable with mouse/keyboard for me. DS2 is fine once you rebind stuff. This should be an understood thing in pc gaming these days, sometimes the keybindings are retarded, and then you fix them and it's fine.
