Relatar um problema com a tradução
no, it really doesn't. it feels like ♥♥♥♥.
the game is not unplayable but not being able to make precise movements is an arbitrary handicap.
Glad I just paid 20$ for it, a bargain is never bad though.. Well, I'll see soon. :)
Can anyone verify if it's just how the game plays or if it's just us?
It's like it's forcing wsad directions on the joystiq.
this is exactly the impression that I had, and I can confirm a friend of mine in Australia is having the same problem.
Knowing Namco Bandai's "amazing" customer support though, I am pretty sure we will never have this issue acknowledged much less fixed.
This fix eliminates the deadzone entirely, which means that both character and camera will be moving all the time, which is annoying. That's why you have to finally force a proper deadzone with either motioninjoy, ds3tool or scp xinput wrapper, whatever you're using basically. Try a deadzone between 10 and 20 to see what you like. I don't know how to force the deadzone with the official xbox 360 controller drivers though (I'm using a DS3 via scp xinput wrapper). Btw, the deadzone setting in x360ce won't work, so don't bother. Anyway, if you did it correctly, you should have a similar feel to the first DS.
And for those wondering why DS2 has such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ implemented deadzone, well, thank microsoft for their default xinput deadzone implementation, which is beyond stupid. Instead of evaluating both x and y axis to see, if they are in the deadzone range, it checks the deadzone for each axis separately, so you lose the range in both x in y axis even when the thumbstick is nowhere near the center. Thanks Microsoft! And yeah, the same problem plagues the Xbox 360 version as well, and many other games that use xinput.
obviously if i do none of this the game doesn't load because there's no controller settings.
any explanation? i don't want to fight with some software more than i'm fighting with the in-game controls.
1. Delete xinput1_3.dll and x360ce.ini
2. Start x360ce.exe and follow these steps:

ds2deadzonefix_2[www.dropbox.com]

That's all there is to it. If your character moves while your stick is centered, you'll have to force the deadzone with motioninjoy/ds3tool/scp xinput wrapper or whatever you use.
I do hate the new controls and wish they'd just adjust it developer side.
While not game breaking those angle dead zones are incredibly annoying and I feel like I'm not having as much fun as I should be because of them. This really needs a fix because being stuck in just 8 directions of movement is not how this game is meant to be played. I'd rather not mess with installing drivers or altering system files and risk breaking anything. Hopefully the devs will do something (however unlikely) before the mod community has to fix it.
