Special effects not showing up

I'm currently playing and I am unable to see item, my bloodstain, spells, fire or other such effects. I have tried changing my effects quality, but it doesn't seem to change anything.

Same here, I tried Validating the files and restarting the game but no luck there, I also made sure to start the game in administrator mod but no dice.

Well, I at least found the humor in all this. If you thought magic was OP on the console version, just imagine fighting it when it's invisible

Thanks. This fixed it. I just needed to reboot the game after changing it.
