Pre-download? [Merged Threads]
Anyone knows if you can pre-download the game before it has been released?

Last game i did this was Bioshock Infinite, and i want to know if this is a feature of steam for all the games that you pre-order, or it's case by case?

depends on publisher, but dark souls 2 is a big game and if you buy it from steam or other official retailer like gmg which provides keys sooner, im almost positive they will allow to pre-load it.

Pre download please?
So maybe like 2 days before the game releases on steam may we please have a pre download.

Maybe like 75% of the game or something.

So that way as soon as the game comes out we dont have to wait 2 hours to download it and we can spend our time playing the game.

Friday the 25th is my day off and I would hate to waist most of that day downloading the game.

Note: can we please just stay to the subject about the game being a predownload. I don't want my inbox to be spammed with people arguing about stupid stuff.

Don't hold your breath. Preloads are usually only for the big AAA titles, which DS2 certainly is not.

Then what is your so called AAA titles? Games published by EA that are corrupted by their greed or from Ubisoft that love to milk the series?

Careful, your fanboyism is showing.

The Souls games are niche. They do not pull in the kind of money, recognition, or the same amount of players that big name titles like Call of Duty or Battlefield have.

Interesting. Can you give a few more examples of what falls into your category of 'AAA'?

AAA is just a marketing buzzword. It doesn't have to do with quality but with how much was spent creating it (development/marketing).

Call of Duty is technically a AAA game, even though it isn't very good. GTAV is the same way, it had a $200m budget, and I thought it was one of the most boring games I've ever had the displeasure of playing.

While the Souls series is niche, the quality that goes into its creation makes it stand among the modern day so called "AAA titles" without needing the budget. People that have something to lose will always push out more interesting art than those who are stable. Thats why most bands get worse once they finally make it.
