How will I take the PC version offline?

How do I set the first game offline? Hopefully I can take the second game offline. I do not want invasions and do not want to fight human players during the glass knight boss fight.

But that's the whole point of the game, and there's supposedly a covenant that'll help you out if you get invaded, and apparently there are limits to how often you can be invaded.

Offline mode only disables the steam community. If you're worried about invasions, I think burning Human Effigies helps reduce how often you get invaded or shuts it out completely, at least temporarily. You would have to look into that to be sure.

Do you mean for Dark Souls,or Dark souls 2? For Dark Souls,load the game, log into GFWL, then turn your modem off then back on. Games tells you that you are in offline mode. Now you can play offline and save. For Dark souls 2, I have no idea.

That will not make the game offline as after opening the game,it will still detect your internet connection.You will have to put Steam into offline mode,switch off your internet then run the game.

If information on this page is true (http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Human+Effigy), you can burn Human Effigy at bonfire to disable all direct multiplayer interactions (no summoning/invading).

"Nut up or shut up!" Just kidding. As galumn said you can burn a human effigy and block all interactions with other players and then use Bone of Order to ublock it.

In the first Dark Souls, if you played with steam in offline mode, you could still play online but only because GFWL. Since this one won't use that abominiation, we still have to see how the online is going to work on the PC. I believe that you can't play VAC games in online multiplayer if steam is offline.

You can get invaded during boss fights now ? Because as far as I know, from Dark Souls, you could get help from other players but they couldn't invade you during boss fights. If you entered the boss zone you sent them back to their world.
