Correct Paladin Build
I'm looking for the right way I should build a Paladin like build using only cleric and melee, preferably something mace like.

This is a RP PvE build that I will be using to PvE and Blue Soul PvP.

Basically I need stats to aim for things like certain spells and damage out put.

Along with gear to match the idea. Havels? What weapons?

BUMP!
There is no correct path man. It's how you want to be or feel. My paladin build was a bandit as a starting class. I have another that was a cleric as a starting class.

This is a personal thing, some paladins want heavy armor like Havels, where they dump all of their stats into vitality so they don't fat roll. This will come at the expense of damage and health in the earlier levels. Some, like me, preferred the more nimble approach and went HP/endurance/adaptability.

How do you fight?
I'd go with heavy armor for a paladin RP. I like the look of Syan's set amd Steel set. You just want to get your Vitatlity high enough to keep your max load under 70%. So you'll probably also want to find the Royal Soldiers Ring to keep you load down.

For gear, definitely a mace. The Cleric starts with a mace that is viable all through NG. Your starting INT is really low, but you'll probably not be using any sorceries anyway. I'd recommend keeping an eye out for better weapons if you plan to continue on to NG+ and beyond, but that mace is actually really great especially when 2-handed. That said, Continue to put points into STR, but probably not over 40. Faith should be 50 (though some might disagree). Mace of the Insolent looks pretty aweome, but I haven't used it. Get it in the Crypt.

With a paladin, your focus isn't spellcasting, so a low attunement is ok. I'd say stop at 16 (3 slots) or 20 (4 slots) and use the Southern Ritual bands if you find you need more spells. Use lightning spears, and a Great Heal. Emit Force can be pretty fun in PvP and PvE on the right enemies.

The Defender Shield is awesome, but I'd prefer the Defender GS for a Faith/Str build. However, it might not match the flavor of your character, so go with the shield.

Edit: Almost forgot. The starting mace has B strength scaling, which is great. It also has B lightning scaling. Infuse your weapons and chimes with lightning for a Faith/Strength build.

Well its for PvE and Blue Soul PvP. I would like the build to be sorta like a Ret Paladin in WoW with some range spells like the amazing Lighting Spear :D I don't want any spells like sorcereries or anything. I want it to all be yellow and to look like an actual hero! :D

I like the look of that steel set, but I am also looking for a 2 hander.

Armor? I don't know for the early to mid game but Velstadt set would be fantastic.

Stats wise, what should they look like?
Lightning spear is crap for PVP. It's slow and will get you killed by a skilled invader embarrassingly fast. Although, I will admit, I have been killed by a lightning spear before, it's just rare and requires me to screw up. If you want more tips for pvp, I will provide them, but not on the forum.

Take a look at the Looking Glass Knight set. Read the lore on the Looking Glass Knight. He's a paladin of the king and his armor has natural lightning resists as well. So from a pvp standpoint, it will give you an advantage against other people using lightning.

Well I want it for PvE as well :D

That's fine, but you want to attune your spells for when you do arbiter invasions. You need a pvp set and a pve set. In PVE, I use great lightning spear x3 and I always keep a Magic Barrier/Greater magic barrier up in case of an invasion for spell defense.

Str: 30/40 (no higher than 50. Choose a weapon with good scaling to make use of your strength score)
Dex: 12 (short bow for aggro'ing/baiting enemies) (short bow is also quicker than other bows)
Atn: 16 (this could be higher or lower depending on your spell use)
Adp: 20 (I like my agility over 100) (some people trash this stat. Do you like dodging? I'm really not sure how useful this is when wearing heavy armor and blocking instead of rolling. If you're using a strong shield, ADP:10 might be fine for you.)
Int: base (If you're not hexing or using sorceries, this is a throw-away stat)
Faith: 50 (high faith scaling will make your lighting spears more effective. Some spells require higher than 50 faith, so use skeptics spice on those once you get to Iron Keep

VGR & END: The more the better, level these gradually with everything else, and invest more once you've reached your other stat goals.
Vit: high enough to keep you equipment load under 70. Third Dragon Ring and Royal Soldiers Ring will help with this.

Keep in mind that you can respec with a Soul Vessel 6 times per playthrough. This becomes useful especially when you want to change armor sets and need to fix your Vit score.
