Ranking of Katanas for PvP and PvE

I wanna hear your guys opinion but these are mine

PvP (#1 being the best)
1.Washing Pole (longest reach)
2.Chaos Blade
3.Beserker Blade
4.Dark Drift
5.Manslayer
6.Uchigatana
7. Blacksteel Katana (reason why this is last is because it cant be infused without suffering heavily and in this game infusion + buffs are what does the real damage)

PvE

1.Beserker Blade (kind of tied with uchi)
2.Uchigatana
3.Chaos Blade
4.Dark Drift
5.Blacksteel Katana
6.Manslayer
7.Washing Pole (literally breaks in a second otherwise would be much higher)

Blacksteel katana not doing well when infused is hardly a reason to rank it last. I use it with my dex build and it works excellently. IMO this ranking should be based on if you were using a dex build, as those are the people meant to be using katanas.

Actually you cant say that katanas belong to dex builds in this game because infusions exist...you can have a mage 2H a claymore infused with magic and do more melee damage than a strength build so..

They have dex scaling. That means they are dex weapons.

Lol i had maxed bellbros, dragonbros and bluebros with blacksteel katana +10 and a flame weapon buff.
Blacksteel is a beast. I still have 2 in my inventory for various reasons while i personaly use dark Chaos Blade +5. The damage difference between 2 is not very high on Dex 40 Int 40 Fth 30. It is just Chaos blade have more lenghth and durability. And Blacksteel katana with a buff do outdamage uchi with any infusion and buff at Dex 40.
Also washing Pole is a rubbish, anyone using it will eventualy meet a weapon brake in PvP one of this days. Beyond certain SL and gear quality it is all but unusable.

An dex scaling is worthless, so they're more effective infused with buffs so why rate based on the weapons in there weakest forms?

According to the Dark Souls 2 website the Blacksteele Katana is the most used follwed by the Uchikatana.

Damage may not be much better but the reach and moveset is on the Chaos Blade.

I dare say Chaosblade and Manslayer are the best both in PvE and PvP.

Cant really say which one is better between the 2; Chaosblade has a little more damage and reach and, imo, the better moveset, but manslayer has poison while chaosblade has self-damage, so in secondary effects manslayer is obviously superior. I also like the powerstance heavy attack better.

Manslayer is kinda short. it is shorter than most katanas.
And actualy i am upgrading my second Chaos Blade. Dual Chaos Blade powerstance ftw. I like its power atack animation, the strike arc is very wide. Will certainly cause many cries in PvP.

Manslayer is very underrated. If you are playing an aggresive build based on poisoning enemy it's great weapon. And yeah, as much as Washing Pole can abuse phantom reach, with higher SL and SM it's useless as everyone stack lot of defence and fights require some durability from weapons.

It's just too bad that powerstance kind of sucks, tbh. I am currently using 2 Chaos Blades +5 - one normal, one lightning-enchanted for the sunlight blade buff - and frankly most of the time I either 2hand it or use a shield for extra def, because it's simply better. Even DPS-wise, 2handing wins over powerstancing due to lower stamina consumption and enemy def being applied only once.

I dont use Manslayer mainly because of its rusted and chiped blade. It looks... not very cool. While Chaos Blade have a nice ornament and dried blood on it, and blacksteel katana is guardless with a nicely crafted hilt with simple yet stylish ornament on it.

I don't really like the Chaos blade, the whole "damage back" turns me away from it.
