Best place to farm Sunlight Medals?
Like the title says. What spot seems to get the best bang for your buck in terms of most summons and easiest path? I find that, for whatever reason, almost no one uses the summons In Heide's Tower, which would seem like a good spot since you have two bosses. I've found personally that the Old Iron King seems to work ok, but is there a better one(s)?

Covetous demon was good before, not sure now. Convenient too for sunbros.

You could farm the falconers in NG+ as they drop them.

The droprate is abysmal though. Much much faster to co op. On NG+ I have a lot of luck with the old dragonslayer.
Jolly Co-Operation is the best way. specifically No-Mans Wharf has a high demand I got like 15+ from there, Velstadt, Looking Glass Knight, Guardian Dragon, not to mention the end boss. I've never found co-op lacking.

I know bosses are a quick grind but you're only doing half the job, I found a lot of people like help getting to the boss, not just fighting him. I've had people resummon me after duty is fulfilled just so we can carry on.

The best one I found is the Prowling Magus & Congregation. It takes 1 - 2 minutes to kill and it only gives 2,000 souls per win so it doesn't mess with your SM too badly.
i got about 10 an hour at the rotten boss
I think I'm realizing that SM is probably responsible for a lot of the lack of summons. Thanks for the ideas. I'm not in NG yet and I'm around level 115, which I realize doesn't necessarily translate to SM. :whiterose:
I got most of them helping on smelter demon and the various bosses in drangleic castle. Even when I was very high I got summoned from first bonfire in Drangleic almost constantly.
I had great luck in NG+ at Pursuer (the actual boss fight, not the platform). I got 20 medals in about a half hour. Ruin Sentinels was also good farming spot. Last Giant wasn't as great because I think he's much easier to solo. I'll echo Prowling Magus and Congregation as well. Anyway, these are all early game bosses, and they're relatively easy for a well equipped team. Which is why it's a good, quick place to farm. As others have posted, SM will determine how many people are going to be in your summon pool.

OP I missed your later post where you say you're not in NG+ yet. I had trouble getting summons in my late game so I gave up on it. My soul memory was too high I think. After you beat the game, make sure you're still in Sunbro covenant when you move into NG+, then collect medals like crazy. beating the end boss doesn't start you over like in DS. You have to go back to majula, use the bonfire, and select the option to start NG+. SO, you'll have the opportunity to go back to Sunlight Alter
Not sure how many souls you actually spent, but you might get lucky with the Mirror Knight, Demon of Song, Velstadt and Throne of Want. I think I got most of my medals from the Demon of Song fight and I think I was around your level.

I've gotten the most summons before Velstadt.

"ganking" bosses are good to farm sunlight medals and smooth + silky stones

like the ruin sentinels or the 2 dragonrider in the castle...
0,9-1M SM @ dragonriders you can farm 30 medals in a row

im 160 sl and havent finished..yet. i have the kings ring so im not far away. if i wanted to could power thru to last boss
What about a good place for someon with SM of 25+ million? I need 9 more medals for rank 3 and it's a pain to get summoned
Yea it seems like you just need to find the right boss at the right time, meaning, your SM is on par with a lot of other players. This is especially good when the boss is an easy one. So farming at Ancient Dragon or Chariott is a terrible idea because most the people who summon you are going to get killed as soon as they walk through the fog door. Don't waste time on bosses that give new players grief. If it's taking you too long to get summoned, move on.
