What is the soul memory on NG++ to get straight to Drangleic castle?

In NG it's 1 million, and I heard you needed 3 million on NG+. But I'm not sure how it works on NG+ and NG++, does it add the souls from the NG+ is started, so you need 3 million from you started over, or is it overall 3 million, and will that mean that it's 6 million on NG++ or perhaps only 4 million.

I have 7,7 million, and I went straight to the gutter, got the Branch of Yore, killed the rotten, and went straight to Drangleic castle, but it wouldn't let me in. I hoped I could just run straight there to get to the merchan who sells Wrath of God, and Great Chaos Fireball, but no good.

So how does SM to get into Drangleic castle work on NG++? If it's 4 or 6 million, from you started a new game, it seem a lot easier to just kill the 4 great souls.

But you need 3 million souls from when you start ng++? They don't stack, so coming into it with high soul memory doesn't do anything? I guess if you want to get fast into it, I could save all the boss souls and pop them right away.

I guess I need to play through most of the game to get Wrath of God and Great Chaos Fireball.

Yes

You could have 200 mil soul memory, you would need 203 million to pass the shrine of winter.

I don't use soul memory as a counter, I use souls I currently have. So going into the ng++ with 3 and halve million souls, you would need another 3 million once in ng++.

Use souls to gain souls, 80x giant lord souls = 2 million, 120x giant lord souls = 3 million.
