I wish they gave forbidden sun at least one more cast

Because it's one of if not the most powerful pyromancy. Why do you think it takes 3 slots to use? It's made so people can't just spam it over and over, makes people have to be smart about how and when they use it.

Also, you get 2 casts with it if your ATN is 43 or higher.

At 99 ATN, you get 3 casts for one spell.

Yup, Hexer's hood will give you more uses and southern ritual band (if you don't want to lose half your HP with northern) will guve you more slots to attune 1 more copy. 43 attunement will net you 1 more, so to reach 6 casts is not that hard!

Northern ritual band increases casts for hp, hexer's hood gives a flat +1 cast to everything. Witch's hat gives an extra attunement slot. Southern ritual band+2 gives 3 attunement slots. Saints hood gives a flat +1 cast to everything. 43 Attunement gives an extra cast to all spells with only 1. Long story short: the means already exist for this spell to be annoying. Just needs min/maxers to reach for them.

It probably has plenty of use for first-run melee players who use pyromancies to deal with bosses, but once you get in the 15m+ SM bracket, Crystal Soul Spear is the superior "big hitter" spell. The amount of work you have to go through (in getting the item and in build consessions) to get 10+ casts of CSS is nothing compared to FS.
