Black Dragon Armor Upgrade (Read till the end)
I LOVE the look of Black Dragon Armor. The only reason I don't use it is because it has such horrible physical defence. If it started out with the defence it has now but we were able to upgrade it I would do nothing but wear it. Here are some options. You can upgrade it with Petrified Dragon Bone. (It IS Dragon Armor so it makes sense). You can upgrade it through Magerold of Lanafir by giving him the Ancient Dragon Soul which would also give people more assentive to go to NG+ since you would be able to upgrade the Black Dragon Armor more by getting the Ancient Dragon Soul again. I really want to use this armor since it looks so sexy but, I feel like it just isn't viable in the state that it is. Also for people that are going to say that it is light armor. It definitely shouldn't be light armor considering it looks, and honestly would be, heavier than Vengarl's armor and Vengarl's has crazy physical defense.

Bandai Namco please take this into consideration.

It is interesting, but the appeal of the dragon armor is that it gives you two abilities. Besides that it is really light and offers sound defence. I like to think that this armor is the alva set 2.0

Well the fire breathing ability is kind of crap. Used it on a enemy that is vulnerable to fire and it did 35 damage. The roar you get with the Dragon Torso Stone slightly staggers enemies and gives the player a slight damage boost for 6 seconds. If you are pvping someone they can easily counteract that by running away or rolling away. If you are pveing you can't run in within those six seconds because if you get hit you are going to get rocked since you have such low defence. It honestly should be the same weight that Vengarl's is if not heavier considering it's made from the scales of the Black Dragon. I would be fine with it being the weight of Vengarl's all together, but still has the same starting stats and is upgradable.

The abilities are indeed not good.
I still remember that the dragonform originally did not gave any defence in dark souls.
A boost in defence is something I would like to see. The way you upgrade would be that you upgrade the stones. The head stone requires 9 and the torso requires 27 pdb, because it includes three pieces of armor.

I wouldn't mind that either. I'm more than fine with farming stuff to be able to get Black Dragon Armor upgraded.

for me the Roar takes away my whole stamnia (170 or something) so staggering the enemy for a "riposte" isnt possible, and till i can hit the enemy the buff is already over. At least the armor looks cool :D

It is designed in similarity to the dragon head/torso combo in dark souls one, that means your skin is replaced by the armor, that's why you can't take it off or upgrade it, it also comes with two abilities and is extremely light.
You're basicly fighting naked with the ability to breath fire.

I personally don't really care about defense stats and health (I've never put any points into health for my ultra greatsword wielding warrior). Both bosses and actual players hit hard anyway. I prefer to just dodgeroll instead of tanking their hits with shield and armor.

if you go into the equipscreen you can cleary see that it is a armor.

If only dodge rolling away from players worked. With the way the PvP is right now you will randomly be backstabbed by someone who is 20 feet in front of you.

Yep, you can see it's armor very easily in the equip screen. Even in the description it says it is armor and not you transforming. "Eerily shaped helmet/armor/gauntlets/leggings spoken of in legend, crafted with the scales of the Black Dragon. The Black Dragon was long considered a mere legend, but this proves its existence." So unless crafted means they took you into a forge and crafted Black Dragon scales into your skin, it's armor.

The imported gear you start off with is viable in endgame for melee? Nope.

In a hardcore game like Dark Souls, how good an armor is outranks fashion every time. Especially with how laggy the PvP "system" is.

rank 3 BoB, and i beg to differ.

I pvp in full fashion (a mix between visible aurous and king set), and i wreck people left and right, i even used the imported gear as a early game cosplay, alonside with the laddle, and won with it (mundane laddle is really fun to play).
In a hardcore game like Dark Souls, how good you are outrank how good your armor is every time.

That said, i wouldn't be against a way to upgrade the black dragon armor, in high level pvp and end game content in pve, this armor only redeeming point are the activable (the whole point of the thing, in fact). I'd use it, but that's because i play full fashion, but if you look at how good it is, it's really... Meh...

Rank 3 in BoB and Blue Sentinels. I stick to what I said before. Armor ALWAYS outranks "fashion". I'm always able to woop the ♥♥♥♥ out of every "fashionista" I invade or protect against. It's why people hate havel/smelters. Their gear makes them almost always faceroll win.

A upgrade to the dragon armor would be amazing though.
