Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword vs "Greatsword" Ultra Greatsword
I can't seem to see what is so special about Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword. Am I missing something?

The regular sword has much better stats. It starts out with what, 200 damage?

The Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword gets more of a buff every time you upgrade it than the "Greatsword".

The Pursuer's Ultra Great Sword was more then a disapointment IMO...it's as awful as you'ld think...though the stats raise a lot more with each upgrade it's stats are locked at +5...
You better off leveling a greatsword and buffing it.
Spent all those dragon bones only to have it be my least used.
The animation set awful and it does no more damage then a typical greatsword.

True story the Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword does lesser damage fully upgraded then the Ultra Greatsword fully to plus +10.

You can test the animation for yourself...the initial single handed hit is awful....most of the time it misses as it's such a thin hit box. It's like using a great hammer with> greatsword stats.
If From needed to tweek any stats it's for this weapon....it should retain the awful animation while getting, at least, 1/3 more damage. Only then it would be useful.

From needs to make ultra great swords a little better in general. Maybe give them strike damage alongside the slash, since its not fair that heavy armor is a good counter to a giant huge mclarge sword.

the damage should equal or pass the greatsword with the proper build owing to it being more of a quality weapon then anything. and the fact that it dosnt go to +10 isnt really relevent, as it gets biger boosts because thats just how special upgrades work.
whatever 💀🎺 Jun 5, 2014 @ 10:12am
PUGS has less weight and doesn't really lose in damage. But if you can carry UGS, use it as it has a much better moveset.
UGS looks cooler, has better range, better damage, and better moveset.

I just go Zwielhander for great swords(bastard if I need more speed) otherwise I'll go great hammer if I need a lot of power behind one strike.
Gyrms great hammer has a pretty lethal double handed power attack. Great for throwing your shield to the side and slamming it out when you have an opening. I think I get ~1300 damage from one move(two hits) on the damn thing.

Nope. Quality builds are terrible because dex scaling below S is terrible. PUGS does less damage than Gratsword, always.
Persuers does a bit less damage than the regular greatsword fully upgraded. Sometimes it isn't completely noticeable, but what is noticeable are it's move sets. 1 handing a regular Greatsword is leagues better because of the back to back swipes, letting you cleave down entire groups. It gives you nearly a 360 degree attack radius if you know how to control the swings properly.

Pursuers has some crappy downward strike, followined by a single cleave, then repeat that. The moveset is not nearly as good as the regular greatsword. The range difference between them only works in the Greatswords favor as well.

When it comes to downward strike attacks, I think I'd rather use the Crypt Blacksword with a dark imbue/enchant anyway rather than Pursuers.

Downward strikes are risky as hell unless your in a tight area. It's very easy for an enemy to dodge and, with a greatsword, you are then vulnerable for quite some time...Then they are priceless...But any other situation your better off with a swing attack as they deal the same amount of damage regardless and you cover a MUCH wider area.

I'm actually now getting repissed about how useless this swoard is lol....Was looking foward to getting it since I first fought him, used a ton of dragon bones to level it up and its, by far, my worst maxed out weapon.

You'ld think From would, at least match the greatswords damage and make it quicker.

Isn't it slightly faster and less heavy?

That's mainly the only Plus.
