The TRUE final boss (Spoilers ahead)
I have concluded that Nashandra is exceptionally easy for a final boss in DS2, and honestly I think that King Vendric is the REAL final boss.
Only one question, is he always super hard to beat?

Vendrick is not hard, he's just a test of patience, like Ancient Dragon.

More life =/= harder

I would say the hardest boss in the game is Darklurker, easily. No other boss comes even close.

He gets weaker as you collect giant souls, isn't hard to dodge and is completely optional. Only hard part about him is that he hits hard, so even one mistake is deadly. Also, the ancient dragon is probably harder.

Vendrick is harder than Nashandra, but still not very hard.

It's not like Dark Souls final bosses have a history of being hard, though. Demon Souls final boss was more like a cutscene than a battle, and Dark Souls was only moderately difficult.

If you followed the friggen story you'd know why Nashandra is so easy when you face her. Vendrick sets the whole thing up so that whoever makes it that far, will be strong enough to make sure that Nashandra doesn't get her hands on the flame. Vendrick is an optional boss which will happily give his life for you if you are able to take him down, since he is slowly decaying because of the curse.

he basically wants you to end his curse after taking the throne and take his equipments so you can live like the king :P

If Vendrick is a test of patience, then Darklurker is just a test of luck.

Go into melee range when he uses the laser, cast Chaos Storm. Most of the time he'll do the sword attack when he lands, which will go right over your head. Just keep casting Chaos Storm and he'll die quickly. Unless you have rotten luck and your Chaos Storm does not hit him.

Vendrick was one of the easiest bosses to kill.. Just walk to the right and hit him in the back... over and over and over and over and over and over and over....

Seriously, you can do the whole fight where all he does is swing sideways once, over head twice, all of it can be avoided by WALKING to the right...

Considering DS1's final boss was a big gimmick too, Vendrick and his giant-soul allergy is fitting as a final.

But killing the Ancient Dragon is how you get an item to help you with Vendrick. Though Vendrick has no reason to be an end boss in any way according to the lore. :D

No, but killing him helps you with another fight.

As the "end boss" is normally the last fight you do, it wouldn't normally give you an item to help with another fight in the same game. So as it gives you another giants soul to help with Vendrick, Vendrick would be the end boss of the two.
