What is the best staff for hexes+sorc?

At 40/40int/fth what is the best staff for casting sorceries and hexes?
Staff of Amana or the blue thing from Undead Crypt(forgot the name)=?

Sunset Staff for hexes, Staff of Wisdom for sorceries. Amana is great, too for sorceries tho'.

Use Sunset is all else fails. It's your general go to staff.

For your first good staff get the black witch staff. It can cast anything but pyromany, has an A scaling for both magic and dark, and upgrades with normal titanite. Almost all the other really good staffs and chimes need either twinkling titanite or petrified dragon bones to upgrade which are much harder to come by and are also much less versatile.

I already have 40int and 30fth...now i just need a decent staff. I'm in Shrine of Amana now....

Sunset Staff is the best hexes staff, but is not very good for sorceries.
Staff of Wisdom is the best sorcery staff, but you can't cast any hex with it.
There is also the Leydia Black Staff, that can be used to cast miracles.

For sorcery the Staff of Amana is only good as long as you are in human form. If you are hollow its power fall behind the humble Lizard Satff, wich you can find way earlier in the game.

And you can't really get a staff that will be both good at hexes and sorcery. All the good staves are specialized.

LIke I said, get the black witch's staff first. It's drops from the black witches in the undead crypt which is the next area after the shrine of amana. Later when you decided what you want to cast most, either get the chime of want (dark), dragon chime (lightning), or staff of wisdom (sorcery)

The witches staff is always useful since you can cast nearly any buff with it while it takes only up 1 slot and it's, like I said, cheap to upgrade.

I just us Black witch's staff, it lets you cast everything but pyro spells.

Plus you get the ability to cast some decent utility via the ability to cast miracles, even if the scaling isn't as good as chimes(since most 'non-damage' spells don't scale to begin with)

while staff of wisdom is the most powerful staff for sorcery, dark sunset for at least a few hexes. you can try witch staff, which was already said is easy to obtain and can nearly cast everything, and is easy and fast to upgrade.
you can also use a dark staff of amana +10, can cast sorcery and some hexes
