(I parry with a 2 handed Greatsword peps still wine like little beaches when you use some actual skill to parry there spin to win BS)
Everything else you need to be VERY good at knowing when someone is attacking before they do it as once you see an animation, it is to late, damage done. Or go for a parry in mid combo. Both are not good ideas in my opinion. Shield tanking is bait for a guard break and stun locks hurt.
Add that some slower weapons being near immune to parry if 2 handed and trying to parry kinda bones you unless you can bait. Nevermind lag and the desync that is phantom range.
If your internet connection is not good, it will be almost impossible to do so
This^
Not exactly true
Unless the opponent is skipping frames in pvp, parrying is pretty consistant. Games like these are pretty forgiving unlike fps games, you wont see people skipping frames unless the either of you are above 100ms.
In PvE, just takes a little practice. Pick attacks to parry and it should be fine.
I see someone posted Juutas tutorial. That should cover the how tos of parrying
The easiest way to learn parry is to "set up parry". This is the easiest to do in both PvE and PvP. Block the 1st hit and then parry the second. Just like this:

The following video as another technique that people use in pvp, I myself use it quite a bit

Left trigger when using something that can parry. Shield, parry dagger, curved sword, or when 2 handing bigger weapons. Also take notice of what can and CAN"T be hit with a parry.

R1, R2 are right bumper and tigger. Copy about everything for left hand use.
Weight is good (18), damage is nice (just over 500 infused), moveset isn't that bad (not a fan of the 2handed R1), is an curved greatsword (very parry safe if used right), and it looks rather nice. The only drawback I got on it is speed. I want to try other weapons, but it is just so damn good that I can't stop using it.
well you could just use the marakumo, same moveset, less weight, more damage ?!
not to say i havent been punished and killed alot of times too
I try gitgud with shields, it's very very very painfual btw, since parry with shield much harder than any dagger / scimi.
I can parry great swords, katanas, santie, but timing must be perfect. Plus i don't "execute" people with parry killing animation, so i'm looking like insane turtle who fishing parry like mad and not benefits from it xD
Do not watch video's they usless, since you won't get fight like this in pvp, to gitgud with parry go pvp and die like 500 times.
Also, pve parry are stupid you can parry anything like realy anything i did parry pigs in majuula, rats, almost all bosses e.t.c xD
Oh, and probable one benefits what i have from this stupid parry gitgud, other people can't parry me any more
I'll have to see if it has more damage or not. +10 could give more base stats than a +5 but scaling could toss that in a loop. But Im starting to get sick of that moveset. Iv been using that weapon for a LONG LONG time now. At least 2/3 of my total playtime since the moment I unlocked boss weapons.
And I want to use other things. But for some reason or another I keep going back to it. Id love to use things like Manikin Claws, Meat Cleaver, or something that has a nice look to it. But all of them end up weak or just no good from low damage, easy to break (PvE), short reach, or a number of things together. Plus if you don't focus on buffs everything will 4 shot you while you'll need around double that.
The more I PvP the more unbalanced I see the game.
