its easy, you just unpack the gedosato folder and open whitelist file in the assets subdirectory. add the executible name of dark souls 2 to that whitelist file. in the gedosato config make sure you have downsampling values uncommented if you want to use downsampling. otherwise, if you want the AO and DOF stuff just make sure that in-game anti aliasing is enabled so that gedosato's dark souls 2 graphic enhancements can hook into the game.

when you are setup, run the gedosato exe and click activate (using whitelist method). just leave it alone running in the background then go ahead and run dark souls 2.

p.s. gedosato will continue running in the background even after you close dark souls 2. be aware.

seriously, do you even read the install instruction? It's very detailed

+ you need to run gedosato.exe as an admin, otherwise it might not work correctly.
Also, the latest GDST version requires turning DoF manually ingame, by pressing 2 on your numpad.

c3lix is wrong the instructions for GEDOSATO are very poorly written, the read me file is not clear in anyway on how to install the mod. Maybe it is because of a regional difference in the English Language but i have found that people even mod authors have become very lax in there use of the English language and it is very easy for people to not understand what they mean. You have to leave GEDOSATO running in the background in order for it to work. It does not say this anywhere in the installation instructions. In addition you have to actually add the .exe for dark souls 2 to the white list it comes with it written on the white list already however something about the way the author wrote it is incorrect. The latest version poltergeist's white list is located in a different location than the install instructions it is in the config folder instead of the assets folder. The read me also does not include any instructions on the best down sampling settings for video cards so you have to experiment with the GEDOSATO.ini in order to find the best settings for you computer and monitor if you don't understand .ini files it makes it harder to utilize the mod to its full potential.

Man... download. Run. PROFIT?!

How do I use it? (INSTALLATION & USAGE INSTRUCTIONS)
====================================================
1) Extract the contents of the zip to some permanent directory
2) Run GeDoSaToTool.exe *as Administrator* (you can use this to perform the following steps)
3) Adjust the settings in config/GeDoSaTo.ini and config/GeDoSaToKeys.ini as desired
- you can also store game-specific setting overrides, see "config/Blackguards" as an example
4) [optional] Add your game executable names to "whitelist.txt" in the "assets" folder
(Dark Souls 2 and a few others are already included!)
5) Select the downsampling resolution in-game if you want to use downsampling

Whats wrong with internet people nowadays??

It is not that easy...
I have tried to install it, but GeDoSaToTool.exe is not on their website and I am instead linked to GeDoSaToUpdater.exe

The steps are practically the same as you describe, but no matter how many of their "Problem Work-Arounds" I try, I always get the same error message. Ignoring the error is not an option, since the extraction of the file, through the Updater.exe is stuck in endless loading Mode, even if I give administrator rights.

If their is a zip version of what the .exe file tries to unload on my PC anyway, would be nice if someone could point me to that. It's ridiculous to not have any backup option for this...

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

bro, find the github link and copy the "pak" folder into C:/gedosato/

you will be able to use it.
