if you dont. go for the build you want. but i swear if you as much as think about spamming dark magic, using havel fast rolling with dual havelyn and santier spear. i will rip you soul out and chew them to the gutter...
aka please dont noob build :)
Dex Scaling is pretty bad in DaS2 so don't worry too much about finding an S scaling weapon.
I'm not sure if you're putting anything into FTH or INT, but you might want to so you can get an imbued weapon and a buff in the mix because pure melee isn't particularly strong in comparison to a buffed imbued weapon.
Keep up the appropriate spell to further increase your weapon's damage. If you go Int with magic infuse you would cast Magic Weapon to increase your magic damage by 50 and a percentage on top of that.
I could go DEX 50, FTH 50, would this be a good idea? and if so what should I be doing, infusing good DEX weapons with lightning? and that would be better than just purely having 80 DEX for example?
and since DEX is high in poison would I do something like a S scaling DEX bow (hunters bow) infuse it with lightning and fire poison arrows with it?
Thanks and sorry I am new at this.
If you want to do a faith + bow setup, you can consider the Bow of Want. it has an inherent lightning attack and also a special sun-spear type attack
or if you're feeling trolly, the Butterfly Shield gets to 400+ poison.. incredibly useless in higher level fights though
Infusing a Blacksteel Katana keeps S scaling in Dex but I heard it is lowered? according to the wiki anyway
As long as youre not running a 99 dex build, its probably worth it to lower the dex scaling if the chunk is by a minimal amount because the elemental AR it gains should be far higher than your losses.
But thats all dependent on your stats + weapon specifics
I'm not sure if there are invisible subtiers or if each weapon has a numerical value used for scaling that is then translated into rank, but not all Ss are the same. The same is true for all ranks, but S is an especially large tier.
This. and for some weapons, one will have a higher bonus from a C scaling than another will have with a B scaling. i dont know any specific situations off the top of my head but have experienced it a few times
It keeping the S scaling is just a display bug. It actually scales more like B after you infuse it.
