I'm having difficulty properly overriding my textures in DS II. Yes i did enable tex override in the geDoSaTo.ini and Had placed said textures in the override folder and im still having difficulties. Did I Install it improperly? (Its in My DS II folder)

Shouldn't have to make one, there should be a folder for that already. I believe something like textureoverride

Go to the "textures" folder and create a new folder inside and name it "DarkSoulsII" without the ". Then create another folder in the "DarkSoulsII" folder and name it "override", put the custom textures you want in there and it should work as long as you have texture override enabled in the gedosato.ini. @Lights wrong, you need to create two folders as i just described, otherwise it will not work.

For anyone reading this little thread, i found, after much trial and error that the file structure has to be exactly as follows:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Dark Souls II\Game\GeDoSaTo\textures\DarkSoulsII\Override

It is case sensitive and it got the job done, just chuck all the .dds files for your textures inside the final override folder on the end.

Of course everyone has different configurations so your game might be located on a different letter drive.

I am having the same problem as the fellow above, and i have copied your instructions yet it seems to not have done anything. However i have noticed the files in the override are not in the dump folder. Is that a problem?

After setting this up and putting my textures in the override folder, I'm running into this problem:

"The installation path for GeDoSato contains special characters or spaces."

Can I leave the .ini and the other files and just move the tool out? Has anybody else run into this problem?

This wasn't working for me either... just made it work now with the following path

C:\Program Files (x86)\GeDoSaTo\textures\DarkSoulsII\override
