How do i get out of taking the throne ?!

I don't want the cycles to repeat !
so im in the boss room and have beaten nashandra and there is the glowy light thinggy for taking the throne but i want to renouce it ! how do i do it ? jump into the pit ?

i have tried restarting , homeword boneing it out and every thing ! no good , the bloody prompt just isnt coming up :( i really really don't want to take the throne

I don't think you can do it before new game plus this time. There are certain steps you need to take before fighting Nashandra in order to reject the throne.

1) You need to defeat all 4 of the Great ones (Lost Sinner, Freja, The Rotten, and Old Iron King) and then light the primal fires after each one. This step is critical, as it introduces a new NPC at the last primal fire.

2) Activate the first fire in Undead Crypt to meet the NPC a 2nd time.

3) Activate the Dragon Shrine fire to meet the NPC a 3rd time.

4) Defeat King Vendrick at some point before fighting Nashandra, You do not need to locate his armor or crown. I recommend gathering Giant Souls before fighting him.

5) FINALLY you can fight Nashandra and have the choice to reject the Throne at the end.

Next time speak to Aldia when he spawns at bonfires, then kill Vendrick BEFORE fighting Nashandra. This will trigger Aldia as a Boss so you can warp out/quit game.

I have just killed her I have the same issue😂
