Large number of Demon's souls bosses followed same formula. Some weird boss gimmick, you maybe die once or twice (if even that since demon's souls bosses were not that hard), then you learn it and boom, boss dead.
And there are plenty easier bosses than the chariot and skeleton lords in DS2. Single Dragonrider is by far easiest, anyone who says different hasn't got a clue. Congregate is pretty damn simple aswell, as is Jabba the hutt.
The Lords suck. Slow attacks, slow movement, low health. The only thing that makes it challenging are the skeletons that spawn when they die and they are pretty easy to kite around the room so you only need to fight one at a time.
The bonewheel skeletons are annoying if you don't kill them quickly. In the first game they typically rolled and rolled untill they hit a wall and stopped after a while. This time they will stop and turn around after they pass you.
start -->dragonrider -->skeleton lords....what do you expect?
