Is there any way to get a greatbow mid game?

I am trying to do a archer build with a new character and its taking god awful time to kill an enemy with a short bow

Kill alonne knights using greatbows in the iron keep (thats mid game).

I dont find greatbows to be better than normal bows, because they drain youre entire stamina bar per shot, and they fire much slower. That results in lower DPS, but higher burst damage.

Iron keep is pretty early game. Thats where you can get Alone Greatbow i adore. Alternatively Dragonslayer Greatbow is available when you meet Ornifex at its home ( you need The Old King Soul ).

hmmm im trying to farm a regular bow from huntsman cope because thats were I am at and its taken forever for them to drop and I dont really want to use a short bow all the way to iron keep

You can blast people off edges with a Greatbow. Plus it is always interesting to hit some guy with an arrow taller than you.

I can put 2 giant arrows in a player with my stamina without resting at all. And since the player prefers to lay around for a time after each meeting with an arrow i have plenty of time to replenish stamina. Just dont miss and never use lock on. Also destructive greatarrows for maximum frustration.

P.S. What many people does not get is that Alone Greatbow is very easy to handle and pretty fast. Completely unlike Dragonslayer Greatbow wich you need stick into earth before every shot. The later is more of a gimmick and a trowback to DS1, but people insist on using it for that very reason. While pro archers use Alone Greatbow.

Dragonrider Bow's good. You'll need a Dragonrider Soul and you'll need to free Straid. Has good strength scaling and also deals a bit of magic damage.

I'd go with a regular bow, but if you really want a greatbow, you can farm them off alonne knights or get one with old kings soul, which drops from old iron king at bonfire intensity 2.
