lost the uses of my lightning spear (dark souls 2)

I died, when i whas a phantom and i had only 3 of the 11 uses over on my lightning spear and now my max on my lightning spear is 3!! and bonfire's don't work :'c pleas help!!!!!

thats normal, the new patch did this. your spell also deals a lot less damage. Have fun with it. Thank Fromsoft.

The new patch severely nerfed Lighting Spear and the Great counterpart. They DONT do more damage infact they do 25% less.

They made PVE easy. So they've been nerfed. I'm still rocking sunlight spear along with 4 great lightning spears, sunlight weapon, and the miracle that costs 65 faith (though I've brought it down to 50 with spices) and everything is still doable. This also makes you more dependent on consumables. IMO, this is a good change and I'm a pure faith build.

You mean like all other casters as well? Its not like most bosses are weak to dark magic or anything. This nerf was totally unnecessary, the normal lightning spear isn't strong enough to only have 3 uses, it should at minimum have like 6 or 8.

It's already been confirmed that the 25% reduction was a glitch. They're gonna fix it, so for now just deal with it and wait for the fix.

They should just undo the Lighting with it I don't play any thing but Lighting dude.

i thought lighting spears where suppose to be OP and they kind of where the reason why i played dark souls to begin with seen my friend play thought it was the coolest thing he could throw lightning spears now i find the to be usless looks like wood arrow spamming for me

Nothing is supposed to be OP. From a design perspective, that means you failed. If something is OP, you nerf it.

Yeah before the new patch and patch notes release I made an all lightning faith dex build using rapiers now between the rapiers and lightning my toon is almost useless since I speced 55 faith and 30 dex . The rapiers were for last hits or close to death kills now it's just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ poke fest and "wood throwing" as one person here said

Then respec and adapt. Put a lightning infusion on your rapier or switch over to Heide's Knight Sword and infuse that.

Problem is shouldn't have to respec. I liked how my toon was, now I can't be a lightning god like I was now. I already have lightning I my rapiers that was part of me being all lighting. Now instead of a lightning god I'm a lightning pokey melee ♥♥♥♥♥

Nothing is supposed to be OP. From a design perspective, that means you failed. If something is OP, you nerf it.

The lightning spears wasn't really OP anyway, you might have been able to lower the lighting spear down to 6 and the great lighting spear down to 4 but 3 across the board is just way to heavy for the lightning spear. It was already weak and without the multiple uses it wasn't really worth the slots or the levels.
